Santa Catalina has one main point break, which is definitely one of the best waves in Panama. Two other point breaks, within walking distance, can be of a very high quality in the right conditions. There are also two beach breaks, although really only one of these is worth surfing.
Upon arrival, there are various local captains with whom you can arrange boat transportation to any of the nearby point breaks and other more isolated areas. If you would like to arrange a trip before arrival the following operations can be contacted via their websites below. We also offer surfboard rentals at reasonable prices.
Sport fishing in the waters surrounding Santa Catalina is world class. Dorado, Snapper, Wahoo, Spanish Mackeral, Amberjack and Sailfish are common catches. This area is virtually untouched, it has no significant commercial fishing and has no major ports nearby to support charter fishing.
There are number of local captains in the area with varying qualities of equipment, ability to speak English and prices. We suggest you talk to us on arrival or visit or email the following.
